“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”― Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés

About

I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP (British Association of counsellors and psychotherapists) offering sessions at the rate of £40 per session at my private room in Herne Bay.Do you ever feel like life just keeps moving, even when you can barely keep up?You’re anxious about the future, troubled by things that happened in the past. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by the pressures of the present or like you just don’t know where you belong in the world.Sometimes everything just feels like too much, leaving you feeling confused, lost, not even sure of how you feel or what you want. Despite this, life keeps on going, at times leaving you feeling disempowered, exhausted and like you just need a break, need help, love and support. This mounting sense of pressure may be manifesting as Anxiety, Depression, a constant inner monologue that won’t give you a break?I know that when things get really tough, it can feel incredibly lonely and isolating, it can feel like a trap with no way out. However, the fact that you are here, reading this, that you are seeking support, means that you have hope – A knowing, however faint, that change is possible, that things could be better. This is where I come in, to walk beside you as you move towards that flicker of hope in the darkness. Whilst your journey is uniquely your own, you don’t have to be alone as you walk it.Working together, we will build a relationship that is consistent and reliable in which you can share all the thoughts, emotions and experiences that are burdening you. I will make it my task, not just to say, but to show you the empathy, patience and professionalism that will make it feel safe to share those parts of yourself that hurt- that currently feel shameful, bad and confusing. Together we can hold a space, bound by confidentiality and a dedicated focus on you and your experience, a space in which you are able to share and explore those parts without the fear of judgment, criticism or consequences.Reaching out can feel daunting, but it’s a powerful first step. If you’d like to take that step, I’m here to listen.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you are considering taking your first steps in counselling, I offer a free, half hour initial consultation, so that we have the opportunity to meet each other, discuss what has brought you to seek counselling and for you to ask any questions you may have about the process.I am a qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), offering sessions at the rate of £40 per session at my private room in Herne Bay or online. If you feel that we are a good match, we'll find a regular, weekly time to hold sessions that works for you. Whether you are looking to address specific issues or feel that you want to work in a more exploratory manner, I will provide a safe, open and non-judgmental space for you to bring all your thoughts, feelings and experiences to explore at your own pace.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------My approach to counselling is integrative, drawing influence from a range of therapeutic modalities, but is fundamentally grounded in the person-centred philosophy, meaning that I will always prioritise your uniqueness and your personal experience of life. As such, I approach each new working relationship in a fluid and dynamic manner in order to discover a collaborative way of working that centres your specific needs and that aims to deepen your personal development and help you on your life journey. In line with this philosophy, I continually aim to work in a manner that is inclusive of all parts of you as well as being inclusive of individuals of all backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, ages, disabilities and all the diversity that make up our communities.Along with my own lived experience of neurodiversity, I have found I’ve had particular success working with neurodiverse clients (e.g. ADHD, Autism). To me, a commitment to diversity and inclusion does not mean working with you regardless of our differences, it means acknowledging them, honouring what they mean to each individual and having a consistent openness to revealing my own blind spots and learning more.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a member of the BACP, I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical framework. So you can be assured that all of our work together will be informed by professional, ethical standards and contractually bound confidentiality.I believe that within all of us is an innate capacity for healing and growth, and that personal growth begins with seeing how we relate to others, to the world, but fundamentally how we relate to ourselves. Whether we treat ourselves critically or compassionately.Perhaps you have a feeling that, deep down, there is something bad, wrong or broken in you? In therapy, we don't aim to fix you, because you were never broken to begin with, but to help bring you into alignment with your heart, your values and your genuine self. Walking together, we’ll explore what is holding you back and work towards a living that allows all parts of you to flourish. To help you be more you.'The healing is in the return, not in never having wandered to begin with'
